Questions & answers

What families and advisors ask.

Every household is different. These answers explain the principles behind the work.

What is AI governance for a private household?
AI governance for a private household is the set of decisions, standards, and oversight that determines which AI tools may be used, what information may be shared with them, who is responsible, and when a person must step in.
Why does a private estate need its own AI governance?
Private homes hold unusually sensitive information: family communications, travel and location data, medical and financial correspondence, children's work, staff records, and connected-home details. A policy written for a company does not account for any of that, which is why the household needs a standard of its own.
Who decides?
The household. Phoenix assesses, recommends, and documents; the principal or their designated leader approves or declines. Nothing is adopted, purchased, or changed on Phoenix's authority, and no recommendation is presented as inevitable. Phoenix does not sign for the household, does not hold its accounts, does not convene its family, and does not direct its staff. Either parent may direct the work, and anything involving the children requires both. Where a court order or custody arrangement says otherwise, Phoenix follows it.
What does an engagement include?
A private analysis, a family alignment conversation where the parents choose to convene one, a focused property walkthrough, a confidential technology-use survey, an inventory of connected devices, independent recommendations, specialist security review where needed, a final synthesis, and a written Household Standard. Scope is decided in writing before the engagement begins. See services.
Who does Phoenix AI Advisors serve?
Principals and families, family offices, estate managers, household managers, and the trusted professionals responsible for complex private residences.
Can you work across multiple residences and international operations?
Yes. Phoenix AI Advisors is based in Weston, Florida, and works with private households, family offices, and estate teams across multiple residences and international settings.
How long does the initial engagement take?
The household walkthrough is typically one to two hours. The complete timeline depends on the number of people, residences, vendors, connected devices, and specialist reviews involved, and is confirmed in writing before the engagement begins.
How much of the principal's time does this take?
Two conversations, roughly an hour each: one at the start to set priorities and limits, one at the end to approve or decline what is recommended. That is the principal's commitment. Everything in between is done with the rest of the household, starting with whoever manages the house. If the engagement continues, the principal's involvement is a short review at agreed milestones, and nothing else.
Do you implement what you recommend?
Through trusted partners, when the household wants it. Phoenix brings in partner firms for implementation and coordinates their work. Phoenix takes no fee or commission from any of them, and the household is never handed to a firm it has not met. If the household already has a trusted provider, that firm can do the work inside its own scope. Partners who work offsite are bound by an agreement with Phoenix. Partners who work in the house also sign the family's own confidentiality documents. The scope, the cost, and who will be in the house are agreed in writing first, and the house manager sees the names and the schedule before anyone arrives.
Is this employee or family surveillance?
No. Phoenix assesses tools, access, workflows, and risk for protection, clarity, and accountability. It never conducts covert monitoring or harassment, and never seeks unnecessary access to private logins or communications.
Does this mean you monitor our children?
No. Phoenix never conducts covert monitoring, and does not access private logins, messages, or schoolwork. What a parent sees and what stays private to a young person is a decision the parents make explicitly, in writing, at the start, and everyone in the house is told what was decided. If a family wants a monitoring product, that is a different service, and Phoenix is not it.
Will staff be judged for already using AI?
No, and this is stated to staff at the start of every engagement. Most households already have tools in use that nobody formally approved, usually because someone was solving a real problem. The inventory exists to fix the house, not to establish who did what. Phoenix will decline any engagement that turns governance into a pretext for building a case against household employees.
Will Phoenix review private conversations or upload household data into AI?
No. Phoenix works from the minimum information necessary, de-identifies sensitive information when appropriate, and does not run private household details through consumer AI tools during an assessment.
Will you recommend software?
Yes, when the household needs it. Every recommendation starts from the household's needs, not from a product. You will know who builds it, what it costs, and how Phoenix is paid. Phoenix accepts no commissions or referral fees from any outside vendor.
Do you replace legal counsel, cybersecurity firms, or technology integrators?
No. Phoenix works alongside the household's existing professionals rather than replacing them, and does not draft or review legal documents. Where technical work is needed, Phoenix brings in trusted partner firms and coordinates them with the household's security and technology providers, and no vendor contract is changed without the household's instruction.
What happens during an initial conversation?
We discuss the household's goals, current concerns, decision structure, and whether an assessment would be useful. Pricing is discussed then, not on this website.
